Yes, with the CHAMP Simple and Studio Camera systems, there is a “private stream” that is super fast and doesn’t have the typical 30-second delay of your live stream. With the private stream, there is a less and 1-second delay, so you can capture the votes and move the meeting along in near real time.
Step-by-Step Guide
Here is how you take advantage of the “private stream” before your meeting starts.
- Log into the Meeting Control like you normally would.
- Right-click on the top of the CHAMP software and select “Open in new Tab or Window”, whichever you prefer
- Select “Elements” and then “Camera/Studio Control”
- Before the meeting starts, you can press the play button to listen into the meeting and then switch back to “Meeting Control” to run your meeting.

This is done so that if a viewer has an issue viewing the stream, such as a loss in bandwidth, then a lower quality video is provided. When their local issue is resolved, the HD version is used. You’ve probably experienced this yourself when watching HBO or Netflix and it’s because of the playlist that you don’t lose video. However, this benefit comes as a cost, the playlist typically contains 30-seconds of video so that’s why there is a “delay”.
