How To Create An Event

When you’re ready to begin using the CHAMP platform, your first step will be to create an event. This can be done in one of three ways.

  1. Create a blank event
  2. Create an event from a template
  3. Create an event by cloning another event

Each method can be useful depending not your goals. A blank event is handy when you’re starting from scratch and don’t have any data in the system. Using a template is great when you have boilerplate item that you use for every meeting and Cloning can be a real time saver if you need most of the data from a previous event, such as a Work Session that you want to clone into a Regular Session.

Creating A Blank Event

Log into your CHAMP account and select “Events” from the top menu. From there, select the blue button in the upper-left corner labeled “+ New Event”. This will open a pop-up window with the following options.

New Event dialog window
“New Event” dialog window
  1. Title
    For example “Regular Meeting”
  2. Description
This is an optional field that allows you to put additional information, such as location or any other information unique to your event.
  3. Date & Time
  4. Board
Simply select which board this event belongs to
  5. View Style
This is optional for when you wish to have a different styling for a specific event. For example, if you have a different look for your Work Sessions from your Regular Meetings, then CHAMP can create a custom View Style for those types of events.
  6. Create from Template
If you wish to create an Event from a template and not from scratch, then you can do so by selecting the template you wish to use here.
  7. Save
This creates your Event using the information you filled out in the “New Event” form.
